This proved to be a very entertaining and instructive evening. Charles tied a series of patterns that he hoped we would be able to tie and catch fish in the coming season. This was especially useful to those of us going to Chew and Blagdon in the spring, Charles also tied a nice trio for use when fishing droppers.

As always with a visiting speaker we got the individual preferences regarding the tying and the fishing of the fly. Charles appears to be a great believer in a little is great both in the tying of his flies and the number that he carries for any given day on the water. It was encouraging to see so many people attending and good to welcome the guests from other guilds.

John Gamon will lead the workshop next thursday 20th and will tie the following Micro Boobie No 3), Oily Worm (No 4), Black Diawl Bach (No 5), Midge (No 8) and Corixia Cruncher (not on List). A full list and materials will be emailed to members. At the end of the evening John Gamon proposed a vote of thanks to Charles which was heartily endorsed by all.
