Speaker Evening – Chris Skillen

Chris Skillen is a fly tying instructor who provides professional fly tying tuition courses for beginners through to advanced. He has developed and built his own sophisticated design of rotary fly tying vice the features of which he demonstrated during the evening.
The theme for the evening was fly tying techniques. Chris concentrated on tying parachute, klinkhammer, and Crippled Midge patterns based on the “Big Red”, soft hackle for spider and cruncher patterns, and the use of CDC for bodies and head hackle.
